Bosch GXL18V-501B25
18V brushless 5-tool kit with 2-in-1 impact driver/wrench · Reviewed by Drew · amazon.com live, Sept 28 2026
Why it scored a 81
At $599 this five-tool Bosch set is built around one unusual piece: the GDX18V-1800 accepts both 1/4-inch hex bits and 1/2-inch sockets, so the kit doubles as an impact wrench for lug nuts and lag bolts. Features score 80 and warranty 88, with quality at 84 on brushless drill and impact motors and two high-output CORE18V 4.0Ah packs. Value trails at 70. The caveats are thin evidence and reach — only 84 reviews, a smaller US accessory range than DeWalt or Milwaukee, compact-duty recip and circular saws, and a listed 5-year warranty worth confirming at purchase. Best for a DIYer who wants socket work covered.

Should you buy the Bosch GXL18V-501B25?
The Bosch GXL18V-501B25 is the five-tool kit for someone who works on cars and decks as much as drywall, because its 2-in-1 impact driver takes both hex bits and 1/2 in sockets. It ranks #4 of 10 in our Cordless Tool Combo Kits category at $599.00. Against the DeWalt DCK551D1M1 5-Tool at $519, you pay $80 more for a brushless hammer drill, 4.0Ah batteries and a longer warranty. If you do not need socket drive or masonry work, the DeWalt kits are cheaper routes to the same tool count.
Where it earns its score
- 2-in-1 impact. The GDX18V-1800 has a 1/4 in hex and a 1/2 in square drive, rated 1,800 in-lb at 4,200 IPM, so lug nuts and lag bolts do not need a separate impact wrench.
- Brushless hammer drill. The GSB18V-490 with a 20-setting clutch handles masonry the DeWalt 5-Tool cannot.
- Warranty at 88. The listing claims 5 years on tools and 2 years on batteries, matched only by Milwaukee in this category.
- 4.0Ah CORE18V packs. Double the capacity of most DeWalt bundle batteries.
What to know first
- Value is the lowest factor at 70. $599 for five tools is fair, not cheap.
- Compact saws. The GSA18V-083 recip and GKS18V-22 6-1/2 in circular saw are the lighter-duty models in Bosch's line.
- Smaller ecosystem in the US. Bosch 18V has fewer tools on big-box shelves than DeWalt 20V MAX or Milwaukee M18.
Our verdict
The Bosch GXL18V-501B25 scores 81, a Good Buy, with Satisfaction (92) and Warranty (88) leading. Buy it if socket work and a hammer drill are on your list. If you mostly cut and drive around the house, the DeWalt DCK551D1M1 (81) at $519 covers the same five tool types for less.
