ViperScore breakdown
Should you buy the WOPET Automatic Feeder?
The WOPET Automatic Feeder w/ Camera (7L, 1080p) is aimed at owners who want to watch mealtime and talk to the pet through the feeder itself. On paper it is a good deal: a 7-liter hopper, six meals a day, a 1080p night-vision camera and two-way audio for $105.99. The reason it sits below our buy line is quality and reliability, which score well under everything else in the category. If you want a camera and a feeder, buy them separately.
Where it earns its score
- Value leads the card at 75. No other feeder here bundles a camera and two-way audio for this price.
- Roughly 20 cups. The 7 L hopper suits a multi-cat home or a medium dog.
- Dual-band Wi-Fi. Works on 5 GHz as well as 2.4 GHz, which fewer feeders manage.
What to know first
- Quality scores 60. That is the lowest quality mark in our pet feeder rankings, and reliability is close behind at 64.
- Six meals a day. Fewer than the PetSafe Smart Feed's 12 or the Granary 2's 10.
- The camera is fixed. No pan or tilt; you see the bowl area and not much else.
- Warranty is the weakest ViperScore factor. At 55 it offers little comfort on a unit whose reliability is already the concern.
Our verdict
The WOPET Automatic Feeder w/ Camera scores 67, Buy With Caution, and ranks last of 7 pet feeders. It is below our buy line because quality and reliability fall short of every alternative. Buy the PETLIBRO Granary 2 at 84 for the feeder and add a Petcube Cam 360 for about $53 if you want to watch the bowl; the pair costs a little more and works far better.
