The Sovol SV06 ACE is a Klipper-based open-frame bed-slinger for the hobbyist who wants high-speed printing on a budget and does not mind a smaller brand. For $239 it offers up to 600 mm/s, a pressure-sensor nozzle probe for bed leveling, a planetary direct-drive extruder and a 4.3-inch touchscreen. It ranks last of our ten 3D printers, though it stays above our buy line. It is a single-color, single-extruder machine best suited to PLA and PETG.
Where it earns its score
- Klipper firmware. Input shaping and pressure advance are built in, which is how it reaches its speed claims.
- Planetary direct-drive extruder. Good grip on filament, including TPU.
- Nozzle-probe leveling. The nozzle itself senses the bed, which avoids the offset errors of a separate probe.
- Touchscreen. A 4.3-inch screen is nicer than the knob interface on the Ender-3 V3 SE.
What to know first
- Every factor sits in the 75 to 80 range. No standout strength; Reliability 79 and Satisfaction 80 are the best of them.
