Quality sits at 72 because the bike is very heavy, and the caveat is legal: off-road mode speeds are not allowed on public roads, so it stays in its Class 2 default there. It is for a big rider or long-distance commuter who wants range and stopping power and can store a heavy bike.

Should you buy the FREESKY Swift Horse Ultra?
The FREESKY Swift Horse Ultra is the e-bike for a big rider or a long-distance commuter who wants range and stopping power above everything else. A 1,680 Wh LG-cell battery, a 4,000 W Bafang motor with 150 Nm of torque, full suspension and four-piston hydraulic brakes put it in a different weight class from everything else in this category, literally. At $1,299 it is the most expensive bike here and the only one that scores a Good Buy.
Where it earns its score
- Features lead at 92. Dual-crown hydraulic fork, rear air shock, turn signals, NFC card unlock and a 400 lb payload.
- Range nobody else matches. 48 V 35 Ah is nearly three times the battery of the Aipas M1 Pro; FREESKY claims up to 140 miles on assist.
- Real brakes. Four-piston hydraulics are the only ones in this group, and on a bike this heavy they matter.
- UL 2849 certified. The whole electrical system is TUV SUD tested, not just the battery.
What to know first
- Warranty is the lowest factor at 66. Two years on motor, battery, controller and frame is better than the one-year norm here, but the brand is young.
- Off-road mode is not street-legal. 38 mph is for private land; keep it in Class 2 at 20 mph on public roads.
