Should you buy the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0?

Runners and families who spend more time on trails and gravel than on mall floors are the audience for the BOB Revolution Flex 3.0. Where it earns its score

• Real air-filled tires. A 16 in rear pair and a 12.5 in swivel-locking front wheel roll over roots, curbs and packed snow the way plastic wheels cannot.
• Mountain-bike-style suspension. The rear suspension takes the chatter out of rough surfaces, which matters for a sleeping kid at running pace.
• Long useful life. Rated to 75 lb with a near-flat recline, so it works from infancy (with a car seat adapter) through a big preschooler.
• Storage everywhere. Six pockets plus an extra-large cargo basket, and a 9-position handlebar that suits both parents.

What to know first

• It is big folded. Around 28.5 lb, a two-step fold, and it does not stand on its own. Measure your trunk.

• Tires need air. Like a bike, expect to top them off periodically and carry a pump on long outings.
