Nebula Mars 3 Air
Brighter battery portable, 400 lumens · Reviewed by Drew · amazon.com live, Sept 28 2026
Why it scored a 79
At $519.99, the Nebula Mars 3 Air is a battery portable that doubles the Capsule 3's brightness at 400 ANSI lumens, with Google TV, Netflix and dual 8 W Dolby Audio speakers. Satisfaction leads at 86, Reliability follows at 84 and Features reach 82 thanks to the 2.5-hour movie battery and Bluetooth speaker mode. Quality sits at 78 because it is larger than the Capsule and offers no optical zoom, so placement means moving the unit, and the one-year warranty holds at 55. Should you buy the Nebula Mars 3 Air?
Families who want a full movie in the backyard on one charge should start with the Nebula Mars 3 Air. It runs 1080p HDR at 400 ANSI lumens, twice the Capsule 3, with dual 8 W Dolby Audio speakers and a carry handle. Google TV with Netflix is built in, and the 2.5-hour battery covers most films. At $519.99 it costs $120 more than the Capsule 3 and the extra brightness and sound are what you pay for.
Where it earns its score
- Double the brightness of the Capsule 3. 400 ANSI lumens is still a dark-room number, but it means a bigger image at dusk instead of full dark.
- Better sound than most portables. Dual 8 W Dolby Audio speakers, and it doubles as a Bluetooth speaker when the screen is off.
- Hands-free setup. Auto keystone, focus and obstacle avoidance in about three seconds.
- Ports you actually use. HDMI, USB-A and AUX, so a console or laptop plugs straight in.
What to know first
- No optical zoom. Changing image size means moving the unit, same as every Nebula we rank.
- Bigger than the Capsule 3. It has a handle for a reason. This is a tote-bag projector, not a pocket one.
- Warranty is the lowest ViperScore factor. One year from Anker scores 55 in our rubric.
