Secretlab MAGNUS Pro

Should you buy the Secretlab MAGNUS Pro?

The Secretlab MAGNUS Pro is a gaming desk first: a steel top with a magnetic surface, a power supply built into the left leg so the whole desk runs from one cable, and a magnetic cable and accessory system. It ranks #8 of 10 in our standing desk category at $1,099, the most expensive desk we cover. It is for someone building a showpiece setup who values cable management above everything else. If you want a great sit-stand desk for a normal office, the UPLIFT V3 costs $290 less and scores nine points higher.

Where it earns its score

• One cable for the whole desk. The integrated power column in the left leg feeds the desk and your gear, so only a single cord reaches the wall.
• Highest Features score in the category. A 90, with a built-in cable tray, magnetic cable anchors, a headphone hanger and the MAGPAD included.
• Steel top. A 59 x 27.5 in magnetic surface that will not sag or chip; an XL 1.77 m version is offered.
• Self-locking dual motors. 265 lb capacity across a 25.6 to 49.2 in range with three presets.

What to know first

• Value is the lowest factor at 50. The lowest Value score of any desk we rank; you are paying for design and integration.
• No screw-in accessories. The metal top means clamp-on or magnetic mounts only; no drilling a monitor arm grommet.
• 125 lb, two-person assembly. Heavy and not something you will move often.
• Warranty is shorter than the price suggests. 5 years frame and motor, 1 to 2 years electronics; confirm on the listing.
