DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro
Which one should you buy?
Buy the GoPro HERO13 Black if you want the highest resolution (5.3K60), the widest choice of frame rates and the HB-series lens mods (Macro, Ultra Wide, Anamorphic), and you already live in the GoPro accessory ecosystem.
Buy the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro if you shoot mostly 4K, care about low light and dynamic range, want dual OLED touchscreens, a 20 m waterproof body with no housing, up to 4 hours per battery and 47 GB of built-in storage — for about $80 less.

Where each one wins
Why the HERO13 Black still has a case
- 5.3K60 and 2.7K240 are frame rates DJI does not offer.
- The HB-series lens mount is unique: Macro, Ultra Wide and Anamorphic mods snap on without an adapter.
- The biggest mount and accessory ecosystem in the category, plus GP-Log for graders.
Why the Osmo Action 5 Pro scores higher
- Higher on Value (90 vs 80), Satisfaction (94 vs 88) and Reliability (89 vs 87) — and it costs less.
- A larger sensor with 13.5 stops of dynamic range: better low-light and sunset footage at 4K.
- Twice the waterproof depth, up to 4 hours per battery and 47 GB of built-in storage — no card needed on day one.

Questions buyers ask
Is 5.3K worth it over 4K?
Only if you crop or reframe in the edit, or deliver in 5.3K. For social clips and 4K TVs the Osmo’s 4K from a bigger sensor looks as good or better, especially in low light.
Which has the better battery life?
The DJI. Its 1950 mAh cell is rated for up to 4 hours at 1080p24 and it charges faster; the GoPro’s Enduro battery typically lands between 1.5 and 2.5 hours depending on resolution and stabilization.
Can I use my old GoPro accessories?
Mounts, yes: the HERO13 uses the standard folding fingers plus a new magnetic latch. Note that HERO13 batteries are not compatible with earlier HERO models.
